Every FIBA Asia Championship is
interesting and exciting. The 26th FIBA Asia Championship at
Wuhan will be no different. |
|
|
|
In fact, the 26th FIBA Asia Championship will be the most
interesting we have seen so far. |
| |
|
The 25th FIBA Asia Championship (at Tianjin) was more
exciting than the previous one at Tokushima. And the one at
Tokushima was more exciting than the previous one. |
| |
|
I am confident that the trend will continue at Wuhan. |
| |
|
Needless to elaborate the 26th FIBA Asia Championship is the
qualifying event for the 2012 London Olympics, and the
champion emerging from Wuhan will be a deserving
representative of FIBA Asia. |
| |
|
I expect all the 16 teams to come up with their best –
better than what they did previously – at Wuhan. |
| |
|
Such a performance from each team adds to the competitive
edge and overall depth of the competition. |
| |
| I also anticipate the overall conduct of
the 26th FIBA Asia Championship to reach newer, and higher,
standards. |
| |
| With the Chinese Basketball Association, we
can expect nothing but the best on all fronts. |
| |
| Wuhan gave us a fantastic glimpse of what
they are capable when they hosted the Draw Ceremony for the
26th FIBA Asia Championship on a specially commissioned
cruise ship with rivers Yangtze and Han forming the
backdrop. |
| |
| I am sure that show was only the beginning
of many brilliant things to follow on the organizational
front. |
| |
| I also expect the technical quality of the
event to see unprecedented levels with many of our young
technical officials having undergone advanced training at
the FIBA Asia Camp for Young Potential Referees. |
| |
| On behalf of FIBA Asia, I assure the CBA
all the necessary assistance – technical and otherwise – in
running the event towards a successful conclusion. |
| |
|
Thank you and “Peace Through Basketball” |
