MAS/UZB - Realistic coach Goh satisfied with Malaysia's 11th place
 

WUHAN, China (26th FIBA Asia Championship): SEABA team Malaysia led from the start and quelled Uzbekistan’s challenge for a 82-76 win in the play off for the 11th position on Saturday.

Loh Shee Fai led Malaysia’s scoring with 18 points and Chee Lei Wei (pic above) added 13 points for the team.

Coach Goh Cheng Huat was satisfied for the ranking his team had achieved.

“We came with the aim of a top-12 finish. I think we have to be realistic and satisfied that we got some wins against some taller and physically stronger teams,” he said.

Malaysia were playing in the competition after gap of six years.

For Uzbekistan too, who had finished 14th two years ago, it was a climb in the rankings.
