WUHAN, China (26th FIBA Asia Championship): Yi Jianlian of China emerged as the Most Valuable Player as the All Star line-up was drawn on the final day of the 26th FIBA Asia Championship on Sunday.
FIBA President Yvan Mainini gave away the MVP prize.
The All Star Five and the Most Valuable Player were selected in a poll conducted among the coaches of the eight teams that made the quarterfinals here.
Yi emerged as the most popular power forward. Jordanian point guard Sam Daghles emerged as the most favored Point Guard among the coaches.
Japanese Takuya Kawamura was elected as the Shooting Guard of the tournament.
Iranian stalwarts Samad Bahrami and Hamed Haddadi were the overwhelming choices among the coaches among forwards and centers to complete the All-Star line-up.
FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann gave away the prizes for the All-Stars.
