Wuhan semifinal China’s most watched sport event this year |

The FIBA Asia Championship semi-final game between China and Korea played last night peaked at 35 million viewers generating a reach of 81 million making it the highest rated sports programme on CCTV-5 in 2011. This beats the previous 2011 record set by Wuhan born, Li Na’s French Open Final which peaked at 34.54 million. |

Japan kept a fighting Chinese Taipei at bay and posted a 81-72 win in the seventh place play-off in an improvement of their 10th place ranking two years ago.
Taipei, who had finished 6th at Tianjin in 2009, finished two notches below. |
